Health & Wellness
Nurturing the Whole Person
At MindSpark Lions Club, we believe that a healthy community is a thriving one. As a youth-led chapter on Long Island, we are dedicated to advancing holistic well-being, addressing both the visible and invisible needs of our neighbors. Under our theme, "Lead to Serve, Serve to Lead," we prioritize health initiatives that empower individuals to live their most resilient lives
Our Health & Wellness Priorities
We align our local efforts with Lions International Global Causes to tackle the most pressing health challenges of our time:
Mental Health & Well-being: We are proud to champion the new Lions Mental Health Initiative, focusing on breaking the stigma and promoting emotional resilience. We follow the guiding principle of "More Good Days, Together," offering community workshops and mindfulness resources to support those facing anxiety, depression, and stress.
Vision & Eye Health: Continuing the legendary Lions' mission, we partner with the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island to collect used eyeglasses and support vision screenings and corneal transplants for those in need.
Diabetes Awareness: We work to reduce the prevalence of diabetes through local education programs, healthy-lifestyle advocacy, and screening events to catch early warning signs.
Childhood Cancer Support: We provide emotional and practical support to families on Long Island navigating the challenges of pediatric cancer, helping to improve access to care and build a network of hope.
Join us during our focused Weeks of Service, where we unite with 1.4 million Lions worldwide for targeted health action:
Hunger Relief Week: Addressing the link between nutrition and long-term health.
Environmental Wellness: Promoting a healthy planet for healthy people through local clean-ups.
Mental Health Awareness Month: A dedicated month of advocacy and "stigma-breaking" events.
