Project Detail

Hunger Relief

The MindSpark Lions Club Hunger Relief Project combines immediate food distribution with long-term advocacy to address food insecurity on Long Island.

Organizing food drives and supporting local food banks to ensure no family in our community goes hungry. We plan to approach local restaurants to offer discounted meals to those in need.

"Feed Our Families" Partnerships: Collaboration with local hunger-relief organizations to support food banks and pantries.

Service Opportunities

Members and volunteers can participate in diverse initiatives designed to create a "ripple effect" of impact:

Food Collection Initiatives: Week-long community mobilizations to collect, sort, and deliver non-perishable goods.

Direct Meal Service: Preparing and distributing hot meals at community centers, schools, or senior facilities.

Sustainable Solutions: Helping residents establish community vegetable gardens to grow their own fresh produce.

Support for Vulnerable Populations: Partnering with organizations like Long Island Cares to provide specialized assistance to homebound seniors and families in crisis.
